After you embed your uTail widget on your website page(s) you may see an error in place where uTail button suppose to be. The error says: “[UTail] Origin is not allowed“:

This error tells you that you’ve not added your website URL in widget’s Site URL(s) option or you’ve entered it wrongly. You must add a site URL(s) where widget will be used in form scheme://domain.name/ on Create/Update widget page.

Lets say you own a website that’s available via http://my-cool-shop.com. You want to place some uTail widgets there on pages http://my-cool-shop.com/home.html, http://my-cool-shop.com/bonus.html and some other pages under http://my-cool-shop.com. Also, your website is available via https://my-cool-shop.com for secure payments.

Here’s a right way to setup widget’s Site URL(s) in order to cover this scenario:

http://my-cool-shop.com/
https://my-cool-shop.com/

Here’s an example of wrong URLs for described scenario:

http://my-cool-shop.com/home.html
http://my-cool-shop.com/*
my-cool-shop.com
http://shop.my-cool-shop.com/

Also keep in mind that system checks by full domain name. Widgets are not allowed to used on specified domain’s sub-domains. In case you want to allow widget usage on sub-domains you’ll have to specify those manually along with top level domain, e.g.:

http://shop.my-cool-shop.com/
