uTail module for Magento, installation guide

These are several steps, that are should be performed in order to install UTail module for Magento.

Here is a short how-to video:

Step 1.

Download the archive of UTail module for Magento from here.

Step 2.

Upload UTail module for Magento to your server. At this stage you can choose one of two available options:

1. Use Magento Connect Manager (recomended).

1.1.1. On the Admin menu, select System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect Manager.

1.1.2. Enter your Admin username and password, and click the Log In button.

1.1.3. In the section Direct package file upload press the button Choose File and select the archive of UTail module, that you have already downloaded in the Step 1.

1.1.4. Press the button Upload and wait for the installation to complete.

1.1.5. Check the output frame for useful information and refresh the page to see changes.

1.1.6. You can now return to your store Admin and use the extension.

2. Use an FTP or SFTP tool.

2.1.1. Extract the archive of UTail module for Magento anywhere on your computer.

2.1.2. Copy app folder to the root directory of the server. The root directory is usually named public_html.

2.1.3. You can now return to your store Admin and use the extension.

Step 3.

Configure UTail module for Magento.

  1. On the Admin menu, select System > System > Configuration > General > UTail
  2. Provide your unique UTail client information from your http://utail.com/ account and click Save Config.

Step 4.

Creating a Static Block of UTail module for Magento.

UTail static block can be added to any page, group of pages, or even to another block.

  1. On the Admin menu, select CMS > Static Blocks
  2. Click on the one row of existing blocks.
  3. Add somewhere the following line of code:
    {{block type="ticonderoga_utail/widget_button" name="utail.widget.button" template="ticonderoga/utail/widget/button.phtml"}}<a href="https://utail.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/step4.jpg"><img class=" wp-image-5222 alignnone" src="https://utail.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/step4.jpg" alt="step4" width="755" height="481" /></a>
  4. When complete, click the Save Block button.
